Those new benefits went into effect a week later on August 16, 2024. But do these changes make the Sapphire Preferred worth it? To find out, I decided to use the new and enhanced benefits in this Chase Sapphire Preferred Real World Review. Of course, some people will value the new benefits while others will not, but for the right people, the value is there. The new and enhanced Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits were: 1. Earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on Chase Travel (i.e., travel purchases booked via the Chase Travel portal) 2. Earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on dining, including eligible delivery services, takeout and dining out. This was previously a 2X earn rate. 3. Earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on Online Grocery Purchases, excluding Target, Walmart, and Wholesale Clubs. This is a totally new category. 4. $50 Annual Credit on Hotel Stays booked via the Chase Travel portal. 5. 10% Anniversary Bonus. Earn bonus points equal to 10% of your total purchases made in the prior card anniversary year. Example: $10,000 of spend gives a bonus of 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points. 5.
