After being initially denied for the IHG Premier Credit Card and getting the decision turned around via the Chase Reconsideration Line, I got APPROVED! It came via standard mail, and now I’ll be doing an IHG Premier unboxing video to show you what the card looks like, plus a drop test, weight test, and comparison to the IHG Business Card. Why I Got the IHG Premier Credit Card: 1. Initial welcome offer of 140,000 IHG points, plus a Free Night worth up to 40,000 points. Unfortunately, the free night as part of the bonus cannot be topped off with points. 2. Annual Free Night Award: The IHG Premier also gives you an anniversary free night certificate worth up to 40K points. This one CAN be used with points for a higher-value redemption at IHG hotels. 3. Point Multipliers: The card earns 10X points on paid IHG hotel stays. The IHG One Rewards program also issues 10X points for simply being a member. Then, if you have IHG elite status, that would be a 3rd layer of earning. Since the card offers automatic IHG Platinum Elite Status for a 60% bonus (i.e. an additional 6X points per dollar), the total you can earn is 26X points on your paid stays. That’s an awesome way to earn free nights quickly! 4. Top Off My IHG account: If I wanted to redeem for a property costing 60K points but only had 50K points in my IHG account, then I could simply pull out my IHG credit card & use it for everyday purchases.
